CK Group are recruiting for a Site Chemist to join a hazardous waste transfer station based in Cheshire, on a full time, permanent basis for a salary of £25,000 or higher depending on experience.

Please note that this is not a laboratory role and involves working 50% outdoors and 50% in office. 

As a Site Chemist, you will be responsible in bringing value to the business by accepting and inspecting all incoming assignments of Hazardous and Non-Hazardous Waste by following the relevant regulations and site procedures. The role may require you to work shifts (not nights) depending on the needs of the business.

Location:

The site is based in Cheshire and is commutable by Stoke on Trent, Merseyside and South Manchester.

As a Site Chemist, the main purpose of your role will be:

  • Ensuring all incoming consignments of wastes have appropriate paperwork.
  • Responsible for the completion of waste safety checks to allow acceptance to site, storage safety and processing and/or onwards transfer.
  • Accepting wastes (hazardous and non-hazardous) on to site as per company procedure. This includes packaged waste and bulk tankers, conducting conformance checks and analysis.
  • Preparing waste for dispatch from site (both packaged and bulk shipment) as per company procedure.

As a Site Chemist, you will have the following qualifications, skills and experience:

  • Degree Level or HNC Qualification in Chemistry or a similar related field.
  • Experience of the Waste Industry is desirable.
  • Willingness to work in outdoor conditions in a hazardous chemical environment undertaking a manual/hands on approach.
